About Beth

Beth has a Bachelors Degree (B.S) in Animals Sciences, and has her CPDT-KA certification (certified professional dog trainer - knowledge assessed).

She has been working with animals professionally her whole life.  After completing her studies, and spending time working in the veterinary world (including working with sea lions and dolphins in Hawaii!) she opted to go into Animal Services.  She spent a several years working at the San Jose Animal Care Center as an Animal Services Officer, specializing in cruelty, neglect and hoarding cases.

Her work as an Animal Services Officer showed her something very important: Many of the calls she responded to could have been avoided if the dog had more training!  This is when she decided to dedicate her time and career to education, behavior, and training, something that was previously a hobby for her.

Beth attends seminars and conferences on dog training regularly, always striving to stay up to date with the most current and effective methods of training. This allows her to help you and your dog with everything from aggression to recall.  Send us an email today to start your training with Beth!

Training Methods

We believe that humans are smarter than dogs (well... most of the time!).  That means we like to use our brains instead of our brawn in training. That is why we follow a humane hierarchy style of training.  What does that mean? It means we follow a strict protocol of humane treatment when training your dog. We strive to develop a dog that enjoys learning and is eager to please.  This means all dogs will be trained with positive reinforcement based training. Not sure if positive reinforcement works? Check out your local zoo or aquarium and you will see everything from turtles to elephants trained with positive reinforcement!  Still not sure? Contact us today so we can show you how effective positive reinforcement can be!
